The Graduate Certificate in Data Mining provides a focused, 12-credit introduction to extracting knowledge and insights from large-scale data. Through a combination of foundational theory and hands-on learning, students develop practical, in-demand skills in database systems, data analysis, and machine learning. Designed for students and professionals with technical backgrounds, the program prepares graduates to transform complex data into actionable insights for real-world decision-making and offers a pathway to NJIT master’s degrees.

Prerequisites

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a STEM discipline or have relevant professional experience in computing. Additionally, students should have three or more years of experience in programming or database work. Further information can be found here

Students who achieve a GPA of at least 3.0 are assured of admission into MS programs offered by the Ying Wu College of Computing. Courses within this certificate program may fulfill the degree requirements for the Masters with the exception of the MS ITAS program.
